An Apache helicopter visited RHS on Friday 5 November as part of the formal acceptance of 4 Regiment Army Air Corps as the newly-affiliated regiment of the school's Combined Cadet Force.

A formal parade was followed by a presentation of berets to pupils and an address by the UK Attack Helicopter Force Commander, Colonel Neale Moss, OBE.
The visit gave an opportunity for pupils to talk to pilots in the Army Air Corps, based at RAF Wattisham, and to have a closer look at the attack helicopters used by the army. School children from Holbrook Primary School were also invited, and years 3 and 4 came along to watch the parade and the take off.
Lieutenant Colonel Marc Godfrey, Contingent Commander at RHS, said, "The CCF aims to enhance qualities of responsibilities, self-reliance, endurance and perseverance. It also offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills to all our pupils. I suspect there will be an increased interest in the Forces and, in particular the Army Air Corps as a result of today”.
RHS was affiliated to the Royal Artillery, but has switched to the Army Air Corps due to excellent links with RAF Wattisham through parents of pupils here at the school.
