Not so!! This was taken between Sept 91 and July 92 becasue he came to open Hood in the first year of girls. I moved to CWS the next year.. Remember it clear as day - I remember our conversations and that fact that I got told off for forgetting to call him Sir every new sentence! Unless he came again later....but I dont think so. I was there 91 - 94. V

Now that it can be confirmed that Prince Andrew is wearing the uniform of a lieutenant commander we know that the picture must have been taken between 1993 and 1999. [Thanks for the enlargement Sophie.]

By the officer's body language/posture and his wearing of ADC insignia, it is evidently a visit by Prince Andrew, the school to the official swchool "Visitor". He appears to be wearing the uniform of a lieutenant or lieutenant-commander. Which would restrict the epoch of the photo to 1984 - 1999. He is wearing the insignia of CVO, which he was awarded in late 1979 - he was promoted within the Order to KCVO in mid 2003. He became RHS Visitor in 1992. [Could the picture be enlarged so the writing could be read?]

Possibly but can't work out from the picture who it is, my eyesight is failing the older I get!

When and who is this? I have vauge recollections but it was usually things in The Sun that i remember for all the wrong reasons.......
