Howe ’95–’01 – Nelson ‘02 After I left school – in 2002, I think - I went to Oxford to read History. Indecisive fool that I am, I then changed my degree to English, a subject which I spent three years ignoring in favour of prancing about doing comedy and plays and all sorts of worthwhile fun. I spent a year as president of the Oxford Revue, and took two comedy shows up to the Edinburgh Fringe, an experience I would recommend to anyone with a thirst for bankruptcy and a taste for cheap beer.
It was, I think the right thing to do – for the last couple of years I’ve been trying to kick off a career as a writer and actress. It’s a rocky path, but I’m enjoying it. In May this year my first book - a novel called ‘The Days of Judy B’ – was published. I’ve had a couple of acting jobs in television – an episode of Miss Marple and a BBC2 drama – and I’m currently attempting to write television scripts. As I say, it’s all highly unpredictable. Fingers crossed!
